Sadar Development and Resilience Institute

SADAR Development and Resilience Institute (SADAR) is a Somalia based development institute specializing in multidisciplinary research, learning, capacity development and programming in addressing complex research, studies and programs in environment and agriculture, health systems, education, peace and governance, and climate resilience in Somalia and the Horn of Africa Region. Our objective is to contribute to enhanced resilience of communities in the face of increasing vulnerabilities due to the impact of climate change related shocks (famines, droughts, recurrent floods, desert locust invasions).

SADAR Institute was Initially established in 2010 as the Resilience Learning Academy, affiliated with Amoud University in Somaliland, East Africa University in Puntland and Benadir University in Mogadishu. SADAR Institute transformed into a complete development research, learning and program focused institute in 2015 and is currently hosting United Nation University of Peace in Somalia.
