Development of NGO RMNCH Accountability Guidance Note

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

The Partnership for Maternal, Newborn & Child Health (PMNCH) decided as of October 2011 to develop a one-stop, easy-to-use guidance note to support national/country NGOs for 2012. The guidance note aims to enhance the alignment of these operational NGOs work to the UN GS strategy on women’s and children’s health, as well as the NGO-relevant recommendations of the Commission on Information & Accountability for women’s and children’s health.

A call for nominations to establish a drafting team and an advisory group has been issued by PMNCH for work to start in 2012.  If you are interested in being a member of the drafting team (5 people will be selected) or on the advisory committee, please send your CV and a one page description on how you think you can best contribute to the process to Stefan Germann at stefan_germann[at]wvi.org or pmnch[at]who.int. Once the advisory group has reviewed the draft, it will be sent for review and input to all NGO PMNCH constituency members.

Stefan Germann is the Director for Global Health Partnerships, Innovation and Accountability for World Vision International and the PMNCH NGO Constituency Board Member. Germann was the technical focal point for CEO & President of World Vision International, Kevin Jenkins, Commissioner on Information & Accountability for women’s and children’s health. On Dec. 7, 2011, Germann provided input on the NGO RMNCH Accountability guidance note and answered attendee questions.
