Hesperian Health Guides
Mission / Vision
Hesperian strives for a world in which people and communities are equipped to achieve health for all. Our mission is to provide information and educational tools that help all people take greater control over their health and work to eliminate the underlying causes of poor health.
Hesperian Health Guides is a non-profit publisher of books and educational materials that help people take the lead in their own health care and organize to improve health conditions in their communities. Simply written, heavily illustrated, and developed in collaboration with groups around the world, our books contain a wealth of life-saving information on diagnosing and treating a broad range of health problems.
We develop and distribute vital health materials in print & digital formats to communities around the world. Available in more than 80 languages, our materials are used in 221 countries and territories, from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe. Hesperian also now offers a variety of digital tools for health promotion, designed for people with limited computer or internet access.
