Recent RCTs of WASH for child stunting: the hypothesis tested, the results, and the policy and programming implications:

Director, Zvitambo Institute for Maternal Child Health Research, Harare, Zimbabwe.
Dr. Jean Humphrey has been a global leader in the research of vitamin A deficiency and supplementation, breastfeeding during HIV infection, and young child stunting.  Most recently she was the PI of the Sanitation Hygiene Infant Nutrition Efficacy  (SHINE) trial in rural Zimbabwe.

Parmi S. Suchdev, MD, MPH
Associate Director, Emory Global Health Institute
Professor of Pediatrics and Global Health, Emory University
Dr. Suchdev holds faculty appointments in the Department of Pediatrics at the School of Medicine, the Hubert Department of Global Health at the Rollins School of Public Health, and the Program in Nutrition Health Sciences at the Laney Graduate School. He is trained as a Pediatrician and cares for hospitalized patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Dr. Suchdev’s research focuses on micronutrient malnutrition, in particular the safety and effectiveness of home fortification programs, as well as the effects of infection/inflammation on nutrition biomarkers. Dr. Suchdev has worked on collaborative research projects in over 10 countries and served on the Governance Committee of the American Society of Nutrition Global Nutrition Council.  He is past-Chair of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on International Child Health, leading projects on global health education, policy and advocacy.
