Turning the SBC Lens on Ourselves: Implementing as if Context Mattered
CORE Group - SBC Working Group
A growing body of literature continues to support what most SBC professionals have long known—that effective SBC interventions are those that can quickly adapt to local conditions and shifts in those conditions. However, many on-the-ground practices lag behind in both theory and execution. The broad question motivating this half-day meeting is essentially “how do we effect behavior change within the behavior change community, and if lack the professional will to do so, what is holding us back?”
Led by members of CORE Group’s SBC Working Group, we will discuss George et al.’s recent article Hubris, humility and humanity: expanding evidence approaches for improving and sustaining community health programmes as a springboard to discussing complexity, context and the realities of implementation. This event continues the discussion of complexity and context begun by CORE’s SBC Working Group in 2015 with the launching of a Call to Action.
