CORE Group & Project Hope- 2025 World Health Day

Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures

On April 7, the world comes together to celebrate World Health Day 2025—a time to reflect on the critical importance of maternal and newborn health. This year’s theme, “Healthy Beginnings, Hopeful Futures,” launches a year-long campaign calling on governments, health systems, and communities to accelerate efforts to end preventable maternal and newborn deaths and to prioritize women’s long-term health and well-being.

CORE Group in collaboration with Project Hope is proud to co-lead this campaign, bringing together resources, expertise, and networks to drive meaningful action. Tragically, nearly 300,000 women lose their lives due to pregnancy or childbirth each year, and more than 4 million babies die before or shortly after birth. These are preventable losses that highlight the urgent need for stronger, more responsive health systems that provide quality care before, during, and after birth—addressing not only obstetric complications but also mental health, noncommunicable diseases, and family planning.

Together, we are committed to strengthening community health efforts, amplifying knowledge, mobilizing resources, and equipping communities with the tools needed to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes worldwide.

Join the World Health Day Social Media Campaign

We encourage our network to come together in celebration of World Health Day 2025, to amplify the call for health equity and sustainable health systems for all. This year’s theme focuses on the urgent need for accelerated action to improve global health outcomes, particularly as proposed funding cuts and foreign aid freezes threaten essential health programs worldwide.

To support this effort, we have developed a social media toolkit with key messages, graphics, and resources to help spread awareness. By using our collective voice, we can drive global leaders to prioritize health and well-being for all, ensuring a healthier, more equitable world for future generations.
