The first session in our noncommunicable disease webinar series focused on highlighting and understanding the progress we have made in addressing NCDs in the past decade which saw three United Nations High-Level Meetings on noncommunicable diseases. This progress was framed within the context of the coronavirus pandemic of 2020 in which people living with NCDs are more likely to experience morbidity and mortality from COVD-19. Our speaker, Priya Kanayson, Policy and Advocacy Manager for the NCD Alliance, shared insights on successes and gaps in NCD integration and advocacy from the past decade and look forward to 2030 and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Attendees were challenged to think about the roles they can play in integrating NCDs into existing and future global health initiatives and programs.
