Thursday, August 27, 2020
Hosted by CORE Group

CORE Group’s Systems for Health Working Group hosted a webinar discussion of an early innovation in designing systems strengthening within mid-size health programs. This work was initiated by Save the Children (SC) with a development project and a chronic emergency project in Kenya before the pandemic hit. Food for the Hungry (FFH) decided to test the approach through a desk exercise during the pandemic.

Participants heard about the philosophy of the co-design approach, its early implementation with SC Kenya and the FFH experience. Presenters discuss the potential for accelerating health systems strengthening with a vision of community-inclusive systems for health, which the S4H Working Group has been advocating for and advancing to develop experience and share lessons learned.

Presenters:

  • Eric Sarriot, Save the Children
  • Kenneth Chege Kagunga, Save the Children
  • Rhonda Holloway, Food for the Hungry
  • Phil Moses, Food for the Hungry

Facilitated by Lauri Winter, Co-Chair, S4H Working Group
