Webinar Description:
Initiating a new behavior can seem like the hardest part of the process of change, yet without a doubt, maintaining a new behavior is the most challenging part of any behavior change. One of the reasons we so often fail at maintenance is because we mistakenly believe the strategies we used to initiate the change will be equally as effective in helping us continue the change, but they aren’t. There are distinct patterns of theoretical explanations for behavior change and for behavior change maintenance. During this one-hour Journal Club, Antje Becker-Benton and Lenette Golding from Save the Children’s Community Health & Behavior Change team will discuss current theoretical explanations for behavior change maintenance and how theory can be used to guide the development and evaluation of interventions promoting maintenance of health behaviors.

Presenters:
Dr. Lenette Golding, Save the Children
