Nutrition Olympiad 2019

The theme of the Nutrition Olympiad 2019 is “Foster Youth Engagement for a Well-nourished World”. It aims to foster youth network at national and regional levels to advocate the importance of nutritional status for all and to find innovative ways to improve nutrition awareness and behavior especially among adolescents and youths. This year’s Nutrition Olympiad will be celebrated during the National Nutrition Week 2019.
The one-day Olympiad has variety of entertaining and engaging activities lined up for Nutrition Club members and other youth participants such as, Food Design, Cooking competition, Street Play, Healthy Diet Chart and many more. There will also be a platform for the youth to bring their voice in National Nutrition Policy development and implementation. The annual event is expected to engage 1,000 people including youth, government officials, international and national organizations, civil society, private sector, academia and media participated.
It may be mentioned that BIID Foundation has been running a network of Nutrition Club (www.nutritionclub-bd.net), a youth platform to fight against malnutrition in Bangladesh. BIID introduced the Nutrition Club initiative in 2015 and 1st Nutrition Olympiad was held in 2017.
