APHA’s 2021 Annual Meeting and Expo will take place Oct. 24-27 and begin with the Opening General Session on Sunday. The 2021 theme is “Creating the Healthiest Nation: Strengthening Social Connectedness.” Activities like business meetings and poster sessions will be virtual and start on Oct. 18. Check out the updated Schedule at a Glance.

In-person attendees will participate at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver. Virtual attendees will participate online from anywhere globally (at home, from the office, or even on the beach).

What to Expect at APHA 2021

We’ve made some significant changes to amplify the attendee experience at this year’s meeting. Whether participating in Denver or from home, attendees will have access to high-quality scientific sessions, inspiring presentations and many opportunities to connect with peers. Session Formats

  • General and Featured Sessions: These key sessions will take place in Denver and be livestreamed to the virtual audience.
  • Oral Sessions: We anticipate an even split of all oral sessions presentations — 50% in Denver and 50% online. Presenters in a session will be in the same meeting format (all virtual or all in-person). In-person attendees who are virtual presenters or want to watch virtual sessions should bring their laptop and present/watch in their hotel room or designated Wi-Fi-enabled space in the convention center.
  • Poster Sessions: All poster sessions will be virtual. This year, we’re adding an interactive element to allow poster presenters to communicate with attendees easily.
  • Roundtable Sessions: All roundtable sessions will be virtual. New technologies will allow us to optimize virtual roundtable presentations.

All in-person Annual Meeting attendees and contractors must be fully vaccinated and must wear a facial mask during all indoor activities at APHA 2021.
