DESCRIPTION

USAID’s Global Leadership Program for Youth provided funding to conduct a baseline survey on young Indian married couples’ FP knowledge, attitudes, and practices to (1) inform program development by better understanding the existing situation and needs of married youth in Lucknow, and (2) serve as a baseline against which to compare changes over time and evaluate elements of the program, with a follow-on survey planned for early 2009. In order to assess the impact of the YFI in Lucknow, the same survey (baseline and follow-up) is also being conducted among a comparison group of married youth in the city of Kanpur Nagar, in which no intervention is taking place. This report presents a preliminary analysis of the baseline data collected in both cities in summer 2007.
