Thorough, robust gender integration has proven to be a vital component of effective social and behavior change communication (SBCC) strategies. This webinar seeks to highlight distinct methods of gender integration throughout the program cycle for comprehensive SBCC by using examples and experiences from three diverse organizations. Presenters from CARE will discuss their Social Analysis & Action (SAA) model through which individuals and communities explore and challenge the social norms, beliefs and practices that shape their lives and wellbeing. ACDI VOCA will share their experience using sex-disaggregated barrier analyses on both nutrition and agricultural behaviors within formative research, and SPRING/Senegal will showcase their pilot Gender Champion Approach in Senegal focused on encouraging improved male-female partnership supplemented with video and radio. This panel will not only provide best practices but also offer a basis for quality design, implementation, and learning that promotes positive, sustainable change within both organizations and communities.

Presenters:

  • Anne Sprinkel, CARE
  • Sarah Sahlaney, ACDI/VOCA
  • Nathalie Albrow, JSI
