Join us for the first global presentation of a multiyear program evaluation

Do women need practice in order to learn how to self-inject contraception? Can they learn in groups? What do they do with their used units? When self-injection is offered as part of routine service delivery, how many first-time contraceptive users and young women are willing to try it?

Find out the answers to these questions, and more: Join PATH and the DMPA-SC Access Collaborative Learning and Action Network (LAN) for the first global presentation of new findings from the Self-injection Best Practices project, a multiyear evaluation of self-injection program implementation in Uganda.

Experts from Uganda and the United States will present evidence on the optimal components of self-injection programming, including provider and client training approaches; accessibility in the community and public facilities; client competency; waste management and storage; and more. Presenters will also discuss implications for program design, scale-up, and policy frameworks globally.

Self-injection of DMPA-SC expands the contraceptive options available to women and adolescent girls. This webinar will help participants learn more about how self-injection programs can be successfully implemented in low-resource settings, and practices that facilitate success.
