Humanitarian-Development Nexus Collaboration Hub (New Design Coming Soon!)

The Humanitarian-Development Nexus Collaboration Hub represents the commitment of CORE Group and its members to confront the reality that the humanitarian and development sectors must further align in order to improve the coherence of aid interventions, manage risk, reduce vulnerability, and ultimately strengthen collective effort towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

In 2018, CORE Group’s Global Health Practitioners Conference prioritized the work of bridging the humanitarian-development divide by bringing together about 300 participants from nearly 20 countries and over 100 organizations to share evidence, tools and lessons. Building from this momentum, the Humanitarian-Development Task Force (HDTF) continues to serve as a platform for cultivating more hybrid approaches and improving collaborative learning across global health programming.

Quarterly meetings are co-chaired by IMA World Health and World Vision with participants from NGOs, CSOs, national governments, UN, private sector, donors, and policy makers to break down barriers that inhibit better coordination across the humanitarian-development continuum.

In 2018, USAID’s Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) recognized the value of CORE Group’s collaborative model and funded research to better understand the data and coordination gaps in community health programming in the dynamic context of protracted crises and transitions into recovery. CORE Group has partnered with members Save the Children and Medair on this USAID/OFDA-funded intiative that aims to address the operational evidence gaps around health and nutrition in the humanitarian-development nexus, research existing interventions, and turn this research into actionable guidelines.
