CASCADE is a multi-country multisectoral programme funded by the Government of Netherlands designed to achieve the changes needed to deliver the objective of healthier diets and increased resilience to price- and climate-related shocks for women and children. The CASCADE programme goal is to improve food security and contribute to the reduction of malnutrition of at least 5 million women of reproductive age and children under 5 in Benin, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia and Mozambique. The programme is funded by the Netherlands government. The consortium is comprised of CARE Netherlands, CARE USA and GAIN. The Senior Technical Advisor Nutrition will join a global cadre of CARE USA technical advisors on CASCADE. The incumbent will work closely with other CARE units (Advocacy, Gender, Youth, and Livelihoods; Agriculture and Market Systems; Knowledge Management and Learning to support to Country Offices’ implementation of CASCADE. Travel to all six countries at least once per year is required. The STA Nutrition for CASCADE will report to the Nutrition Director.
At least 7 yrs. experience in implementing multi-sectoral nutrition programming including field experience in developing country contexts or within an international development organization Demonstrated experience providing technical and programmatic support in nutrition and/or nutrition advocacy Experience in designing and implementing highly effective and efficient nutrition programs - Inclusive and adaptive leadership skills; creativity; and innovative mindset Interpersonal and inter-cultural communications skills, with the ability to communicate knowledge in a manner appropriate to diverse audiences Proven ability to work in partnership with other professionals, and to support learning and sharing of lessons and best practices Demonstrated abilities in strategic planning, management, and oversight of complex technical initiatives Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French is desirable. Master's degree or higher in related field (nutrition, international development or other) or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
