Job Description
Designed to catalyze the uptake of preterm and low birth weight interventions in low-resource settings, shared learning is central to the Every Preemie—SCALE Project’s mandate. As a member of the Every Preemie project team, the Senior Officer, Knowledge Management and Learning (KML) will ensure that programmatic information and learning generated by the project is captured, aggregated and shared broadly with global and national level stakeholders in target geographies. Drawing on implementation research (IR) in project demonstration countries, multi-country assessments and other project work, the Sr. Officer, KML will work closely with the Every Preemie team to lead the articulation and execution of a plan for KM/shared learning (KM/SL). The plan will include the development of “learning-to-advocacy” (L2A) products and their dissemination using a multi-media approach including web-based opportunities, working groups, events and networks led by donors, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and professional associations at the global and country level. S/he will also lead the design of a plan as well as related tools and approaches to understand the catalytic effect of key project deliverable such as the country profiles and the Do No Harm technical briefs.

Bachelor’s degree and 4-6+ years of experience in KM/communications, preferably in global health At 6+ years of overall professional experience Demonstrated experience in knowledge management and shared learning for an organization and/or for a project of similar size or larger Knowledge of global health forums, networks, working groups, websites Excellent English writing and communication skills Experience developing and executing action plans for KM/SL Documented experience designing, writing, and producing programmatic and technical materials for dissemination to broad audiences Experience creating infographics and other materials designed to share information and catalyze action Experience preparing presentations Background measuring the effect of project materials in terms of catalyzing action Sound time management skills and capacity to balance competing priorities Work well in a team environment and able to work independently Ability to work efficiently and effectively to deadlines Strong computer skills including expertise in Word, Power Point, and other relevant computer packages and platforms
