Responsibilities:
Senior Manager, Knowledge Management and Communication Systems will work closely with the Technical Director for Program Development and Implementation to manage communications and knowledge management activities to strengthen our partnership and advance our evidence-to-use goals within our thematic areas. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Network Development and Knowledge Management
-Co-lead development of an internal file sharing platform strategy and knowledge management processes across partner networks;
-Implementation of virtual knowledge hub partner network to advance thematic areas (such as protecting children from violence, women centered care, etc.);
-Manage event preparation and execution including webinars, partner meetings, conferences and consultations;
-Contribute to project reporting, documentation of lessons learned and process documentation within thematic area efforts.

Strategic Communications:
-Create and refine website strategy and content to advance implementation science partnership objectives;
-Draft communication materials (updates, newsletters, briefs) for donors, partners and the public to promote and raise awareness around our approach, results and value;
-Provide strategic direction to the packaging and communication of technical deliverables to reach diverse audiences;
-Manage project social media.

Additional and other responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
-Other tasks consistent with the nature of this position.
-As needed, attend, and represent the organization in various events, seminars, and functions.
-Occasional travel to developing countries as required.

All URC Headquarters employees are required to contribute to business development efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
This position requires strong ability to problem solve and create while working in a fast-paced team environment. The Senior Manager, KM and Communication Systems must have excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail and must be able to write technical information in a clear and accessible manner. Some USAID or US government experience is preferred for this position, which also requires strong interpersonal communication, program coordination, organizational, and support skills.

Qualifications:
Required Experience and Qualifications
-Bachelor’s degree in knowledge management, international affairs or development, public health, communications or a related discipline.
-Minimum six years combined public health experience that includes health related programming, use of data and/or technical writing. A Master’s degree may be substituted for two years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
-Knowledge management experience working for public health or international development organization.
-Previous overseas experience in developing countries or working with projects in developing countries preferred.
-Experience working with social media sites as part of a communications strategy.

Physical Demands
-This assignment involves prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
-This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
-This position may require frequent travel to domestic and international locations with varying distances, duration, and modes of transport.
