Implementation Science Associate for Knowledge Management and Communications
Project Overview:
The Health, Evaluation and Research (HEARD) Project is supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Health Research Program 2.0 (HARP). The HEARD Project is a partnership of some thirty-five organizations generating, synthesizing and accelerating the use of evidence in the development and implementation of policies and programs that improve health in low-resource setting. The HEARD Project advances global priorities set forth in USAID’s Preventing Child and Maternal Deaths (PCMD) and beyond, with a focus on Urban Heath, Woman-centered Care, Violence Against Children, Mental and Psychosocial Support.
Job Responsibilities:
Implementation Science Associate for Knowledge -Management and Communications will support the acceleration of evidence use through strategic information sharing, knowledge management and innovating product packaging.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
1. Serving as focal point for Strategic Communication to do the following:
-Development of communication strategy and implementation of communication plan “systems” in collaboration with URC HQ team and the global and sub-regional anchor partners
-HEARD project and partner webpage development and updating
-Release of regular communication updates
-Management of communication tools and platforms (e.g. social media, listservs)
2. Serving as focal point for Knowledge Management and New Opportunities such as:
-Support to process documentation within thematic area efforts
-Management of internal file sharing platforms and support the streamlining of KM processes
-Writing and analysis required for opportunity and business development
3. Assistance to Product Development and Packaging including:
-Ensure quality and finalization of project deliverables created by HEARD partners
-Support to synthesis and innovative packaging of findings and processes to inform change
-Assistance developing presentations for webinars, workshops, meetings etc
- Master’s degree in public health or related discipline
- Three years of public health and development related experience
- Technical knowledge of global health issues and research approaches
- Research implementation and support experience
- Excellent writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail
- Strong program coordination, organizational and support skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong inter-cultural and interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
- Familiarity with learning management systems and websites
- Previous overseas experience in a low-resource setting
- Strong command of Microsoft Suite applications
- Familiarity with use of social media sites as platforms for disseminating information and increasing interest
