This position will support the Noncommunicable Diseases (NCD) program in implementation of preventive health strategies. The Health Education Specialist will also aid in the promotion of the Abundant Health initiative through church engagement, development of health education materials and technical assistance to church based health ministries.
Essential Job Functions
Mapping of health ministries and resource needs within the U.S. United Methodist Church network.
Conduct training need assessments for health ambassadors.
Design education workshop guides and training evaluation for church and community-based health programs.
Develop and manage social marketing content to promote the adoption of behaviors that will improve the health or well-being of the individual or society.
Organize and oversee the implementation of the training/capacity building events for health ministries in consultation with program managers.
Design and pilot health education resources tailored to the faith community.
Provide continuous support and coaching to conference health ministry leads including the deaf and disability committees.
Develop and disseminate programmatic updates to the network of partners via a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Aid the Noncommunicable Diseases program in disease prevention strategies and behavior change communication efforts.
Mange the social marketing and Abundant health church engagement efforts of the global health unit.
