Job Description
PCI is seeking energetic, outgoing health/social service professionals to expand our service within central and east San Diego. Under the direction of the Deputy Director, the Community Outreach Worker will conduct outreach in specific target zip codes in order to identify pregnant women for enrollment into the Healthy Start program. This position will also build relationships and liaise with other agencies that serve pregnant women. The Healthy Start program provides free in-home prenatal, childbirth, and child development services to pregnant women in specific zip codes in San Diego.  This position will be at 0.8 FTE (or 30 hours per week) and temporary through December 22.

Required Qualifications: Minimum High School or GED certificate required Fluent in Spanish and English (read, write, speak) At least 2-3 years of experience working in health, psychology, or social work field Able to communicate well at all levels of the organization including working with organization leadership and high-level representatives of partner organizations Ability to drive and walk on a regular basis at locations in Central and East San Diego Knowledge about bicultural issues related to Mexican clientele Knowledge of the needs, problems and attitudes of the target population and awareness of the community environment and of health care organizations in San Diego Able to work independently and as a team-player
