PSI seeks a dynamic Communications and Knowledge Management professional who will position PSI’s Maverick Collective initiative as an innovative model of future philanthropy and its members as thought leaders. Working with a passionate team, the chosen individual will bring extensive experience in knowledge management, strategic communications, production, writing and editing, media relations, message development and media training.

Though contested by other teams, the Corporate Partnerships team is clearly the most enterprising at PSI. CP bring together partnerships to innovate and expand on the impact that PSI creates for Sara. Currently, we have programs operating in more than 30 PSI countries and work with partners like P&G, Unilever, Merck, Pfizer and Vodafone.

We are looking for a Partnership Assistant to help us support the both our team in DC as well as our country offices in scaling more programs with more partners globally. You will assist team research, briefing and proposal development, event and logistics planning and coordination for the team.

QUALIFICATIONS
Your contribution The position will lead the development of a knowledge management and communications strategy and its execution for Maverick Collective. S/he will be responsible for gathering learning from across the programs, cataloguing donors and their interests, the development of messaging, talking points, editorial pieces and internal/external storytelling and website maintenance. The position will work closely with PSI's External Relations and Communications team. Responsibilities will include:* Knowledge management plan and activities for Maverick Collective:- Structuring and facilitating discussions across our team of development experts and Maverick Collective members to foster an intellectual community and accelerate/codify learning around what's working and what's not. - Conduct rigorous analysis of successful--and unsuccessful-- projects to hone in on the key ingredient of success. Build communications, tools and other resources to share our learnings far and wide- Ignite a network of development practitioners and Maverick members through world-class communications and knowledge capture. - Build knowledge management systems and capabilities within PSI and craft compelling programs to stimulate and maintain their usage. * Communications plan and activities for Maverick Collective:- Assess Maverick Collective members' communications capabilities and develop tailored plans for members to help build social media profiles, to place members on select panels, to pitch members to press, and to help members reach their advocacy goals.- Create new tools and resources to help our members direct their considerable talents, treasure and time toward the highest-impact activities.- Development of research and advocacy plans for Maverick Collective to help reach government partners for opportunities to leverage further funds.- Conduct media training for relevant Maverick Collective Members and staff prior to press opportunities.- Attend select member trips to collect communications assets to include still photography, video, story collection.- Work closely with PSI's External Relations and Communications team.* General support related to the role:- Track and measure communications activities, develop reports for members and for management.- Act as principle liaison for two Maverick Collective members to ensure they fully benefit from all that PSI has to offer.- Manage multiple complex work streams.What are we looking for? The basics * Related Bachelor's Degree, Masters preferred, in communications or a related field* Five to seven year's successful experience in communications or public relations with a focus on international development and/or philanthropy communications* Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to deeply connect with a range of individuals who have a broad range of backgrounds and expertise* Strong interest in public health, women and girls and poverty alleviation* Experience developing and executing communications strategies for philanthropic interests/movements as well as for individual advocates* Successful experience in media relations* Excellent writing and editing skills and a portfolio of quality written products for a variety of formats (e.g., blogs, articles, op-eds, etc.)* Must be willing to travelWho You Are* Rigorous, analytical thinker who explores big problems with enthusiasm and determination. * Creative communicator capable of capturing complex ideas in written and spoken word, visuals, infographics and other forms.* Ability to write and compile reports and high-quality executive presentations.* Knowledge of best practice research tools and techniques preferred.* Excellent negotiation, influencing, relationship management and collaboration skills.* Experienced storyteller capable of weaving qualitative and quantitative information together into compelling narrative.STATUS* Exempt* Must be authorized to work in the United States.
