YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE TO ENDING WORLD HUNGER BY …
leading the development and implementation of health and nutrition initiatives, the nutrition and health strategy within a multi-sectoral approach, and facilitating global health & nutrition endeavors in alignment, with the overall strategic direction of Action Against Hunger-USA. In addition, the Associate Director, Nutrition & Health, will provide critical support to help fieldbased, country, regional teams and partners to implement high-quality and accountable programming with maximum impact in the communities we serve. Furthermore, collaborate in driving organizational efforts to develop and implement a robust influencing agenda to positively affect the policies and practice of key stakeholders most critical to organizational goal of ending hunger.

KEY ACTIVITIES IN YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE
Maximizing impact in country programs by supporting innovative project design; developing core policies, tools and guidance
Positively influencing the policies and practices of key US-based Health & Nutrition stakeholders most critical to our organizational objectives and develop key partnerships to achieve programming at scale;
Supporting the mobilization of critical resources from US-based stakeholders by cultivating strategic partnerships, and leading and/or contributing to the design of innovative country, regional and global Health & Nutrition programming;
Overseeing the provision of technical support to specific research and other global Health & Nutrition projects, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS
DO YOU MEET THE PROFILE REQUIRED CRITERIA? Master’s Public Health, Nutrition, or graduate level Medical degree, or related field A minimum of 8 years previous work in Health and Nutrition programs overseas with an international humanitarian organization You know Nutrition & Health programs very well Experience in a health and nutrition technical advisory position with an International humanitarian organization (country, region or headquarters); Experience with and Knowledge of key US-based donors including USAID (OFDA and Food for Peace) their proposal processes, technical standards, reporting requirements; and/or experience with longer term developmental projects funded through the Bureaus of Global Health and/or Food Security. Experience working with major US-based foundations that support health systems strengthening an nutrition programming is a plus Experience working in humanitarian and development contexts, emergency and post-crisis, in all the steps of the Project Cycle Management; You have genuine interest in and commitment to the humanitarian principles and strategic objectives of Action Against Hunger You have flexibility and ability to work cooperatively with subordinates, colleagues, supervisor and external stakeholders. You are passionate about humanitarian work. You are willing and able to travel both nationally and internationally Demonstrated experience and/or personal commitment to promoting gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work
